PLAY AS MICHAEL MYERS IN NEW 'CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS' GAME
Earlier today, Activision teased details of Onslaught, the next batch of downloadable content for the popular game, 'Call Of Duty: Ghosts', including the sentence "something menacing is coming Jan. 28. Get ready for the #Onslaught." Well, that "something menacing" is in fact the downloadable character Michael Myers, complete with soundtrack and mask from John Carpenter's 1978 classic, 'Halloween'! Myers will be a playable character in the new Fog map, where you'll be able to wield an axe and stalk your victims through a location complete with abandoned cabin, campsite and er, torture chamber. Four DLC packs are planned for the game, with the cost not yet announced. It'll hit Xbox platforms first on January 28th. You can visit the link below for more information. 'HALLOWEEN: THE COMPLETE AUTHORIZED HISTORY' COMING SOON
Writer Justin Beahm, a contributing editor at Fangoria magazine, is currently busy putting together the first-ever authorized history of the 'Halloween' films in book form! In the vein of Peter Bracke's amazing 'Crystal Lake Memories' of the 'Friday The 13th' series, this book will be a no-holds barred unprecedented look into the creation of the 'Halloween' universe, and will tell the real behind the scenes story of Michael Myers and the launch of the cultural phenomenon it has become today. The book is slated for release soon, so be on the lookout! In the meantime, you can hit the official website at Official Halloween Book, where they list links to follow the book's progress on Facebook and Twitter.
JAMIE LEE CURTIS APPEARANCE RAISES NEARLY $200K FOR L.A. CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL!
According to the latest issue of HorrorHound Magazine, the Jamie Lee Curtis "one and only" convention appearance this past November helped raise nearly $200,000, with every dime going to the Los Angeles Children's Hospital. In addition to that, because of the hospitality and generosity of the people of Indianapolis, Jamie Lee also pledged a $5,000 donation to the Riley Children's Hospital in Indy as well. The Lair was fortunate enough to be a part of this convention, and to give to this worthwhile charitable cause. We can only hope that maybe with this kind of serious money being raised, Jamie Lee would consider doing more conventions in the future. 'HALLOWEEN' ANIMATED PITCH POSTED ON YOUTUBE
Federico D’Alessandro, the head Storyboard Artist and Animatics Supervisor over at Marvel Studios (who worked on Thor, Captain America, Avengers, as well as Iron Man 3 and Thor 2), produced an animated pitch to direct Dimension Films' next installment of 'Halloween'. Working with Craig Guessford, Federico did his take on what direction the 'Halloween' films should take.
According to his YouTube page, Federico says that, “As a lifelong ‘Halloween’ fan it would be a dream to direct a reboot of the franchise that’s so near and dear to my heart,” said D’Alessandro. “I created this animatic to show the tone and storytelling that I would bring to the project if I were lucky enough to have that chance”. He added: “It turned out pretty cool, but unfortunately while I was in the middle of working on it, talks fell through between Platinum Dunes and the Weinsteins…so I missed the boat on that one.” Share your thoughts on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lairofhorror. MICHAEL BAY TO TAKE OVER 'HALLOWEEN 3D'???
According to Bloody Disgusting, Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay's production company, has entered into negotiations to produce the latest entry in the Halloween reboot series. However, while Dunes' interest in Halloween could keep the series going, it does mean major changes could be in store. From the sound of it, this deal could mean 'Halloween 3D' will lose its proposed found footage approach, attached directing duo Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier, as well as the use of 3D. Of course, as this is the third film in the series, the changes Bay and his team could bring to the table will probably be less radical than what they are currently doing to the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' franchise. The first two films had a conservative budget that only helped its box office results, so its expected that the next Halloween will be no different. Shedding the costliness of 3D appears to be the first piece in Dunes' cost-cutting equation. Let us know your thoughts on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lairofhorror.
