DID YOU KNOW?

1. The Sawyer House seen in the 1974 original film was rebuilt for this one.

2. A young version of Sally and Franklin Hardesty's father Ted appears in the opening of the film. although it is never mentioned or listed in the credits.

3. Nubbins Sawyer from 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2' (1986) also appears in this film.

4. Angela Bettis was originally signed on to star as Verna in the film, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. She was replaced by Lili Taylor.

5. This film takes place before the events of the original 'Texas Chain Saw Massacre' (1974).

6. After reshoots were completed, the film premiered on DirecTV on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, before having a limited theatrical run on Friday, October 20, 2017.

7. This film is the first in the entire franchise that wasn't filmed in the United States. Instead, for budgetary reasons, it was shot in Bulgaria.

8. This is Tobe Hooper's final film as a producer. He passed shortly after on August 26, 2017, from natural causes.

9. Stephen Dorff's character Hal Hartman is the father of Burt Hartman from 'Texas Chainsaw' (2013).

10. This is the second film to explore Leatherface's back story, along with 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning' (2006). The character's back story was also touched on in the narration to the third issue of the 1991 comic series 'Leatherface': "He was born an imbecile. Then bad things were done to him that made him hurt and made him fear. Bad things that virtually destroyed what little mind he had. Born an idiot and made a monster, scarcely human".

11. On the DVD commentary for 'Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III', director Jeff Burr stated, "I would say he's mindless as result of injury. I would have to assume that the catastrophic injury that destroyed his face may have destroyed his vocal cords". This is implied to be an influence on the script for this film as well.
