DID YOU KNOW?

1. The film was initially slated for a theatrical release in 2021, but all plans were scrapped after a string of disastrous test screenings. It was subsequently sold to Netflix, where it eventually debuted in February 2022.

2. This film marks the first TCM movie to feature the character Sally since the original, although actress Marilyn Burns did appear as different characters in a couple sequels, she never returned as Sally.

3. On August 24, 2020, initial directors and brothers Ryan Tohill and Andy Tohill split from the project during the film's first week of production in Bulgaria. The duo was then replaced by David Blue Garcia, who scrapped and re-shot the previous footage.

4. Initially during the development of 'Leatherface' (2017), Lionsgate had the film rights and intended to make five more TCM films. By December 2017, Lionsgate and Millennium Films lost the film rights, due to the amount of time it took to release 'Leatherface'. In August 2018, Legendary Pictures acquired the rights, leading to the production of this film.

5. Sally's barn and house, seen during her introductory scene when she receives the phone call about Leatherface returning, are sets from the production of 'Rambo: Last Blood' (2019).

6. Producer Fede Álvarez spoke about this film's relation to the other sequels, saying: "When movies do that, sometimes it feels a bit disrespectful to all the other films. Some people love 'Texas Chainsaw 2'. I love a lot of things about that movie- it's so wacky and of its time. But the rest is such a mess canon-wise. I think it's up to you to decide when and how the events of the other movies happen".

7. This film marks the first time Leatherface wore the face of someone he cared about, and not that of one of his victims.

8. One of the commenters on the live videos during the bus scene is from director David Blue Garcia.

9. This ninth installment of the TCM series follows the continuity of the original series of films from 1974-1994 and takes place 48 years after the original movie. The events from the various sequels and prequels released between 2003-2017 are ignored.

10. The road sign shows the town of Harlow as having a population of 1,974, which is also the year the original 'Texas Chain Saw Massacre' was released.

11. During one of the bus massacre scenes, the viewer can see both versions of Virginia's face (normal and then skinned) flash on the bus window for a split second.
