HELL'S NIGHT II
CHAPTER 29- LETHAL INJECTION

“Madison, stay down!” Tony shouted over the loud speaker, then immediately fired five shots at Michael Myers in rapid succession.

He wasn’t sure if any of the bullets found their mark, nor did he care. He knew first hand that bullets alone weren’t enough to stop this monster. But hopefully Loomis knew what the hell he was doing, or they were all screwed.

“Are you okay?” Tony asked as he rushed to Madison’s side to help her up.

“I think so, but I sprained my ankle real bad,” Madison groaned, grimacing as Tony helped her to her feet.

“We have to get upstairs, and fast,” Tony informed her as Madison put her arm around him to walk with support.

“Upstairs?! We need to get the fuck out of here, Tony!” Madison yelled, tears streaming down her face.

“Loomis has a plan. Just trust me, it’s our only option. That bastard barricaded every exit down here,” Tony stated, referring to something Madison already knew all too well about the front door.

Tony guided Madison to the stairwell door, checking back over his shoulder to make sure Myers was still following them. Not only was he still following, but he was making up ground fast.

“Shit!” Tony yelled and fired another bullet, this one striking Michael directly in the chest. He went to fire another shot but his gun clicked empty, and Michael wasn’t phased one bit.

“Get on my back babe, we need to move and move fast!” Tony ordered.

As soon as Madison was on his back, Tony began to run up the stairs two at a time, looking like Rocky Balboa training for a big fight.

“Is he following us?” Tony asked, breathing heavily as they reached the top floor landing.

Madison cautiously peered down over the handrail and saw Michael Myers still standing on the ground floor looking directly up at her.

“Yes, he sees us!” Madison exclaimed.

“Good, let’s go,” Tony responded, opening the door to another flashing red hallway.

There, he was immediately met by Barry.

“Are you two alright? I thought I heard gun shots,” Barry asked, clearly concerned.

“You did,” Tony answered casually as he looked at his gun and tossed it aside. “I’m fine, but Madison’s ankle is pretty bad. She can hardly walk on it. Is everything set up on your side?”

However, before Barry could answer, Loomis appeared from around a corner holding a large needle full of fluid.

“Is he following you?” Loomis simply asked.

“Yeah he is,” Madison replied as she sat down on the floor, again unable to put any pressure on her ankle.

“Good, let’s take our positions then,” Loomis ordered.

“Wait, let me take Barry’s spot as the bait by the door. He needs to somehow bandage that ankle up,” Tony suggested as he knelt next to his girlfriend on the floor.

“That’s fine. Barry, help her to the other end of the hall and tend to her injury. Tony, you know what to do, now hurry!” Loomis shouted, knowing Michael could walk through that door at any second.

“Oh my god Tony, please be careful,” Madison insisted, kissing him softly on the lips. Tony returned the kiss and gave her a look that said a million words in one before taking off down the hallway to the stairwell door.

Barry escorted Madison down to the opposite end of the hallway as Tony and Loomis stood waiting to spring into action at any second. Neither said a word. Loomis’s heart began to race and he broke out into a slight sweat, knowing it was nearly time.

Barry began to bandage Madison’s ankle, but both of them had their eyes focused on what was going on at the other end of the hall.

“Something’s wrong. He should have been here by now,” Barry started to tell her, but was cut short. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Michael Myers’ mask slowly coming into view through the flashing red lights.

‘No! He must have come up the west staircase and snuck up on us!’ Barry thought to himself right as Michael was bringing the ax down, aiming directly at Madison.

“Noooo!!!!” Barry screamed, finally able to overcome the shock. In an instant, he managed to push Madison out of the way before the ax connected with her head. Instead, the ax sliced down Barry’s arm in a downward motion.

“Oh my god, Barry!” Madison shouted, finally realizing what had just transpired.

Barry fell backward against the wall, screaming in agony as he held his bloody arm against his chest. Michael moved in and was about the bring the ax down again, when Dr. Loomis jumped on Michael’s back and injected the needle into the side of his neck.

The Shape immediately froze and dropped the ax to the floor. Trying to shake it off, he ripped the needle out of his neck and tossed Loomis off his back, sending him crashing hard into the wall.

Tony raced down and grabbed Madison in his arms pulling her away from the scene.

Barry, still grasping his bloody arm, was able to gain control of himself and backed away next to them.

Loomis just sat on the ground with his back against the wall, watching Michael intently, praying that his plan would work.

Michael Myers staggered around blindly, crashing into either side of the wall struggling to keep his balance until finally he collapsed motionless to the ground, ending up flat on his back.

Tony and Madison both let out a sigh of relief at this sight, and she fell into his arms and rested her head against his chest.

“We did it,” Loomis simply stated as he joined the trio. “Barry, are you alright?”

“I’ll be fine as soon as I get some stitches,” Barry replied, wrapping a makeshift bandage around his arm to control the bleeding. Loomis bent down to give him a hand.

“So, now what do we do?” Tony began to ask Dr. Loomis but was cut off by a blood-curdling scream from Madison.

They all saw it at the same time.

Michael Myers sat upright and was staring right at them.
