SEASON 2, EPISODE 8
READ MY LIPS

Edgar Van Horne (Billy Drago) is a successful ventriloquist whose dummy has a mind
of its own. Right down to his pink silk boutonniere, Oscar is extraordinary-- and evil.
He controls Edgar, forcing him to kill in exchange for making their act a hit. Fulfilling
his end of the deal, Edgar has been stabbing innocent victims to death in every city
where the act has been a sold-out success. But Edgar has become disgusted with his
actions and wants out, especially now that he's engaged to Gabrielle (Linda Griffiths),
an old friend of Micki's. When Micki attends Edgar's nightclub show, she's shocked to
hear the dummy hurl insults at Gabrielle from the stage. Micki suspects that there are
supernatural powers at work, though Ryan assures her that the manifest contains no
entries about a ventriloquist's dummy. At the wedding, Oscar disrupts the ceremony by
taunting Gabrielle. Driven mad by his evil partner, Edgar races from the church and is hit
by a car. He survives the accident but tells Ryan that Oscar forced him to become a killer,
and they must find a way to stop the dummy's murdering spree before it's too late.
