SEASON 1, EPISODE 10
TALES OF THE UNDEAD

While browsing in his favorite comic book store, Ryan witnesses an unbelievable
event-- the store's owner is murdered by a creature Ryan swears is 'Ferrus The
Invincible', a character from his favorite comic, 'Tales Of The Undead'. Feeling
Ferrus' wrath as well, Ryan re-treats, bruised and beaten, while Micki checks the
manifest, where they discover Lewis Vendredi's purchase of said comic. Although
it was a best seller, its creator, Jay Star (Ray Walston) dropped out of the public eye
and was presumed dead. However, Ryan finds his idol a bitter, broken man, angry
that he was cheated out of a fortune when his characters were bought off by a rival
publishing company. When Jay finds out about the cursed comic, he goes in search
of it himself to obtain revenge against the company, with Ryan not far behind.

EPISODE RATING: 6

Nice tribute episode to the comic-crazed geeks of the 1980s...
While not believable, it was fast-paced and interesting enough to hold me for an hour
