Matt: Very cool kick-off to the series that explains the origins of Freddy Krueger. This episode, directed by the late, great Tobe Hooper of 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (1974) fame, covers material that should have been in the first movie. While there are no characters from or any material referenced from any of the other films, this episode would make a solid launch point for a potential prequel film. 8 out of 10.
