THE RATING
THE LAIR EXPERTS
Matt: This book is easily the best of the Black Flame novels hands down. The author did a good job of portraying Jason the way he was meant to be-- scary, dark, and very sinister. The description echoes Jason's appearance in Part 7, which is arguably the best look he had in the entire series, movie or book. The kills were great, the story was at least believable, and with the exception of those stupid Thawn characters, this book would have been a hit. Take out the Thawn's and give this novel a better title, and I think it would have been a hit. Hate-Kill-Repeat? Come on. But overall, I actually enjoyed this novel, which is more than I can say for the other entries. 6 out of 10.
