Matt: A church at Camp Crystal Lake??? A freakin' church??? Come on, that ranks up there with Jason in space as one of the dumbest ideas ever. However, the strike team totally made the novel, and Hobb was definitely one of the strongest characters in these new books. Scott Phillips did get the Jason action right, and that's why I am rating it a 4. The church part almost totally ruined the whole novel, but he was able to at least make it respectable with the strike team, the slasher mayhem, and the conspicuous chemistry between Kelly and Meredith. Overall, not bad, but the strike team really resembles a certain other team at Camp Crystal Lake in a little novel called 'The Beginning Of The End'. Hmmm...4 out of 10.
