TRIVIA

QUESTIONS

1. How did the teens try to kill Chucky?
2. Where did Charles first meet Tiffany?
3. What was Bree's secret?
4. What triggered Nica's split personality with Chucky?
5. How did Chucky escape death?

ANSWERS

1. They put the Chucky doll in a sack and stomped and tasered it.
2. Charles first met Tiffany at a club with his other girlfriend Delilah.
3. Bree revealed that she had Stage 4 cancer.
4. Head trauma triggered Nica's split personality with Chucky.
5. Chucky swapped souls (and bodies) with Tommy the good guy doll.

BLOOPERS

1. All of the needles that stick Chucky in the dumpster are either loose or poking through plastic bags. This would never happen at a hospital, as all sharp needles are disposed of in hard, plastic containers to prevent any accidents like that from happening.

DID YOU KNOW

1. Fiona Dourif (Nica Pierce) played the younger version of Charles Lee Ray in the 80's flashback scenes, with the help of special makeup effects and CGI polishing in post-production. Charles was originally played by her father, Brad Dourif, who also voices Chucky in doll form.

2. Series creator Don Mancini noticed that Fiona Dourif's natural laugh sounded eerily similar to Chucky's, which inspired him to cast her as the younger version of Charles Lee Ray.

3. This episode confirms that the show takes place just weeks after the events of 'Cult Of Chucky' (2017), placing the action in October/November of 2017.

4. While arguing with Nica (Chucky), the hangry Tiffany yelled, "My mother always said, don't let a man cock-block you from what makes you happy!" Variations of that line have become a staple of the character since she was introduced in 'Bride Of Chucky' (1998), with her frequently repeating wisdom her mom supposedly offered.

5. While frolicking with Nica (Chucky), Tiffany expressed a craving for Swedish meatballs. This was a reference to 'Bride Of Chucky' (1998), where it was said to be Chucky's favorite.

6. Just like in 'Child's Play 2' (1990), Chucky takes the place of a Tommy Good Guy doll. This time, however, he transfers his soul into Tommy rather than physically replacing it.

7. Upon discovering that Caroline had a new doll, Lexy instinctively went on the offensive and attacked it. Andy did the same thing to his Tommy doll in 'Child's Play 2' (1990) to double-check it was actually just a doll.

8. Chucky was thrown in the garbage not once but twice in this episode. The move has become a common one, dating back to the original film. Somehow, Chucky always managed to come back. In this case, he was able to transfer his soul before the doll met that particular fate.

9. The letters of the opening titles are made up of different types of hearts.

10. As Junior futilely tried to engage with the new group of Jake, Devon, and Lexy, he directly name-dropped 'Westworld' (2016) as an attempt to "fit in".

11. When Nica is explaining to the man tied up in the hotel room that she is not a killer, she is supposed to paraplegic again. However, at the same time, you can see Nica's leg move behind her, suggesting that Chucky was starting to take control of her body again.

REFERENCES

FILMS

SAW (2004)
A random man in his underwear could be seen lying dead in the middle of Tiffany and Nica (Chucky)'s hotel room as they indulged in their games. Equally surrounded by blood, it was very similar to how Jigsaw positioned himself in 'Saw' (2004) as his own game played out.

SAW II (2005)
After being dumped down a hospital trash chute, Chucky landed in a pit of used needles. Rather than being horrified, however, he gleefully swam about and enjoyed the excess drugs they offered. This was considered a comedic spin of one of the worst and most harrowing traps of 'Saw II' (2005).

TOY STORY 3 (2010)
Chucky returned to the Cross house to find Caroline, where he was greeted by the sight of her playing with his replacement. As he watched with a sad expression, this echoed Lotso's painful backstory in 'Toy Story 3' (2010).

TELEVISION

HANNIBAL (2013)
After killing Principal McVey (Jana Peck) at the town meeting, Chucky arranged her body in what could only be described as a 'Hannibal-esque' tableau. It was a nod to the TV show 'Hannibal' (2013), which creator Don Mancini also worked on. In 'Cult Of Chucky' (2017), Chucky even mentions he can't believe they cancelled the series.

WESTWORLD (2016)
During this episode, Junior asks Jake, Lexy and Devon if they've seen this show.
