DELETED SCENES
ALTERNATE OPENING
1. An opening originally under consideration showed John/Dr. Death performing a voodoo ritual while dressed in voodoo priest clothes. This was scrapped and producers decided to jump right into the action.
DETECTIVE NORRIS IN DRAG
2. There was a scene cut showing Detective Norris in women's clothing attempting to catch Charles Lee Ray prior to their chase scene. If you watch the regular opening closely, you'll see that Mike throws a dress on the ground when he chases Charles down the street.
ANDY AND CHUCKY
3. An extended scene was cut showing Andy celebrating his birthday with Chucky and a toy train. It was cut for timing.
ANDY FALLS INTO A DITCH
4. Originally, during the Eddie Caputo death explosion, Andy is showing falling into a ditch just prior to the house exploding. This was cut for the simpler explanation of Andy just being outside.
ANDY MAKES A FRIEND
5. There was a minor subplot cut in which Andy becomes friends with a young girl during his time at the clinic. This is expanded later in the film as Chucky tricks her to help him find Andy.
CHUCKY STALKS ANDY
6. The scene where Chucky is stalking Andy at the clinic originally ran longer. It was cut for timing.
GRAND SLAM
7. The DVD commentary of the film mentions an alternate death scene in which Mike is the one that kills Chucky by decapitating him with a baseball bat.
