As Sean's jeep sped toward Camp Crystal Lake with Scott's SUV close behind, Kevin sat in the back seat staring into space. Krista, who had come along to try to console him, climbed into the back seat.

"What's the matter?" Krista asked, "Why did the professor freak you out?"

"Nothing, I just have a lot on my mind," Kevin replied, trying to pass it off.

"Are you sure?" she asked.

"Yeah, I'm sure," he replied.

"Well, if you need anything, let me know, ok?" she asked, trying to make him feel better.

"Yeah, I will," he replied.

"Hey, you two, we're almost there," Sean said, "Just a few more..."

But he didn't get to finish his sentence, because he didn't see the tree that was laid across the road.

Neither did anyone else.

Until it was too late.

In an instant, Sean's jeep, traveling at least 80 mph, hit the tree and flipped over, sending them into a long, sliding stop on the Jeep's roof.

Scott immediately slammed on his brakes and stopped just short of the tree.

They all got out and immediately ran up the road toward the Jeep, which took about 50 yards before it finally stopped.

Sean was thrown from the flaming Jeep, and he lay about 15 yards from the Jeep, unconscious.

Kevin managed to crawl out of the passenger's side door of the Jeep and get about ten yards away before passing out.

Krista, unfortunately, was still inside the Jeep.

"Jesus!" Scott yelled, running over to his cousin.

"Kev, are you alright?" he screamed.

Kevin did not respond.

"Oh my god! Where's Sean?" Emmy asked.

"I don't see him," Ashley replied.

Everyone started to panic.

Emmy and Ashley started looking around the area for him, while Nikki was frantically trying to find her sister.

"Where's Krista?" Nikki yelled.

"I don't know, but I think Kevin is dead," Scott said, pointing to the deep gash in Kevin's head.

"No wait, he's breathing!" Scott exclaimed. "Kev, Kev, wake up!"

Kevin came to his senses and sat up in writhing pain, letting out a deathly-sounding moan.

"Are you alright? We need to get you to a hospital," Scott stated.

As soon as Kevin got up, all he could think about was Krista, still inside the burning Jeep.

Kevin suddenly sprang up on his feet and hobbled back toward the Jeep.

"Kev, NO! It's gonna blow!" screamed Scott, begging his cousin not to go back to it.

It didn't work.

Kevin got to the Jeep and threw open the door, getting his arms badly burned in the process.

He looked in the backseat and there she was.

Kevin immediately grabbed her and started to carry her away from the Jeep.

That was the good news.

The bad news came an instant later.

When Kevin got about five yards away, the Jeep exploded, sending them both crashing to the ground.

However, Kevin was able to shield Krista's body with his to prevent any further injuries to her.

He could not say the same about himself.

He was out cold again.

After the explosion, Scott ran to his SUV and got his fire extinguisher and was able to contain the blaze to the point where it would eventually burn itself out.

The focus immediately shifted to the three injured.

Emmy and Ashley finally found Sean, and Emmy was able to administer CPR and revive him.

They helped him back to the SUV, where he lay across the folded-down backseat.

Scott was treating Kevin with his first aid kit, and he managed to wake him up.

Kevin woke up next to Sean in the SUV and they just looked at each other, dazed.

"What the hell happened?" Sean asked.

"I don't know," Kevin replied. "But where's Krista?"

Immediately, he hopped out of the SUV and limped toward the others, who were frantically trying to revive Krista.

"Is she ok?" Kevin asked Nikki.

"I dunno," Nikki replied, "They need someone who knows CPR to help Emmy."

"I know CPR," Kevin stated, and he limped over to help out.

With Emmy administering chest pumps and Kevin using mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, Krista was revived in about three minutes.

The first thing Krista saw when she awoke was Kevin.

She immediately wrapped herself around him, giving him the world's biggest hug.

"Are you ok?" Kevin asked.

"I am now," Krista replied, squeezing him tighter.

Kevin was a little laid back in the hug, however.

This was the first time anyone had hugged him like this, since Jess-well, since Jessica used to.

He didn't know how to feel. But for the first time in a long time, he felt pretty damn good about himself.

"How's Sean?" Kevin asked.

"He will be alright," Emmy said. "Those CPR lessons in Health 101 really paid off."

"What the hell did we hit?" Sean said as all three of them were loaded into the SUV.

"It was a large tree across the road," Scott said. "But it looks like it has been there for a long time."

As they went back and looked at it, the tree's bark was all crumbled now that they hit it. In fact, it crumbled too easily.

"There is something really wrong here," Emmy said. "What if it's that guy Jason?"

"You gotta be kidding me," Sean replied. "There is no Jason. Jason is NOT real. For the one-millionth time, he doesn't exist. He is just a legend. This whole town is one big fucking legend."

"Well this legend nearly killed us," Kevin said.

"Yeah, but Professor Hon said--," Emmy replied, but Sean interrupted her.

"Fuck Professor Hon," Sean said. "The three of us almost got killed out here and all you can think about is Kwai Chang Kane? Fuck that!"

"I am willing to bet that Professor Hon did this, trying to scare us away so him and his wife can fuck in peace all weekend," Sean continued. "Wait til I see him. I'll kill that motherfucker myself."

"Well, the camp's only a mile or two up the road. Let's load up what we've got left and go," Scott suggested.

"Yeah, maybe there's an old first aid building there or something we can use to treat our injuries," Krista added.

As they loaded up into Scott's SUV, they didn't notice the dark figure approaching the slowly dimming fire hazard that was the Jeep.

There he was.

Jason Voorhees, machete in hand, slowly walking after them in the classic heel-to-toe, heel-to-toe fashion.

He came home.
