HELL'S NIGHT II
CHAPTER 23- BASEMENT CALL

Dr. John Loomis quietly paced his way down the basement steps, not sure what he would find. He had already successfully covered most of the hospital without anyone seeing him, but he didn’t necessarily take that as a good thing.

Loomis had searched the nurse’s lounge, but it was empty. He even signaled for a nurse from an empty room and got no response. Plus, to top it all off, there was a strange vehicle parked in the ambulance ramp outside, and he had a sneaking suspicion who was responsible. Regardless, something was definitely afoot here, as he had predicted.

As soon as he reached the basement floor, his suspicions were immediately confirmed. Right around the corner lay the body of the dead security guard, illuminated by the moonlight.

“My god, I’m too late,” Loomis said aloud to himself as he took out a handkerchief and covered his mouth and nose from the smell of the fried flesh.

He, of course, had a plan but he also swore to protect Madison and her boyfriend. Loomis pondered this thought for a while before deciding he was in way over his head here alone and needed help fast.

Pulling out his cell phone, the same cell that had saved his life just hours ago, John Loomis dialed Sheriff Robinson, hoping and praying while he dialed that he was still okay.

The phone on the other end rang more than normal, and Loomis was ready to hang up when an unfamiliar voice with a thick Italian accent answered the phone:

“Yeah?” asked the unfamiliar voice.

“Who is this? Where is the sheriff?” demanded Loomis.

“This is Sonny Piati, now may I ask who calls the phone of a dead man?”

“Dead man?” Loomis asked but not really surprised. He knew going into those woods was a suicide mission. “What happened?”

“I’m not really sure what happened, but by the looks of him, and the surrounding carnage, I’d say Michael Myers is a pretty safe bet...now who the hell is this, I want some fucking answers already!”

“I am Dr. John Loomis, Michael’s doctor. I’m working in collaboration with Sheriff Robinson in containing Myers. I came to Haddonfield Memorial in hopes of intercepting Michael, but I may be too late. I believe he’s already here. May I ask how many men you have with you?” Loomis explained, trying to find a solution at the same time.

“I have the whole damn town behind me doctor, and if you say Myers is in the hospital then that’s where we’re heading right now,” Sonny stated without hesitation.

“Good, you have to understand that you are the only reinforcements this town has right now. The sheriff requested the National Guard be called in, but there’s no telling how long that may take. Where are you?” Loomis asked.

“The Tower Farm. We can be there within the hour,” Sonny informed him, abruptly hanging up the phone.

Loomis simply nodded his head approvingly, and was getting ready to get back to Tony’s room when he heard footsteps rapidly approaching behind him.
